This guide explains how to transfer a domain from Namecheap.
1. Please check your domain contact information is correct, especially the administrator's email address as all emails regarding the transfer will go there.
- Sign in to your Namecheap account;
- Go to Domain List and click Manage next to the domain you want to transfer out.
- Scroll down to the Domain Contacts section and click on Edit for any sections you wish to update.
2. Unlock your domain.
- Sign in to your Namecheap account;
- Go to Domain List and click Manage next to the domain you want to transfer out.
- Go to Sharing & Transfer tab.
- In the Transfer Out section, you would be able to unlock the domain.
3. Cancel Protected or Private registration.
- Sign in to your Namecheap account;
- Go to Domain List and click Manage next to the domain you want to transfer out.
- 3. Toggle the Protection button next to WhoisGuard in order to disable it.
4. Get an authorisation code.
- Sign in to your Namecheap account;
- Go to Domain List and click Manage next to the domain you want to transfer out.
- Go to Sharing & Transfer tab.
- Select 'Auth Code'.
5. Initiate the transfer by ordering the transfer through lyricalhost.com.
- Select 'Domains' at the top of the site.
- Select 'Transfer in a Domain' on the left-hand side.
- Enter your domain name and the authorisation code.
- Select 'Add to Cart'.
- This will charge you the equivalent of one year's renewal of the domain, as we have to renew the domain during transfer. Don't worry - you will just get one extra year on top of the expiry date, you won't lose any time you already have left on the domain.
6. Allow the domain transfer to complete over five full days. Keep an eye on your emails as any information will be sent to the administrative contact email address.
