This guide explains how to transfer a domain from GoDaddy.
(Note: .uk domains include .co.uk, .org.uk, .me.uk)
Please note that for a non .uk domain name (for example a .com, .org, .net etc.), you should make sure you have at least 7 days left before it's due to expire when you start the transfer, and for a .uk domain name 48 hours is recommended.
If you are transferring a .com domain
- Log in to your GoDaddy account
- Select "Manage" next to the domain you wish to transfer to Lyrical Host
- Select "Manage Domain" at the right hand side of the screen
- Scroll down to "Transfer" and select "Transfer to Another Registrar" (Make sure you turn off Domain Lock before you select this!)
- Select "Continue With Transfer"
- Make sure to take a copy of the authorization code (You'll need this for the next steps!)
- Visit https://hub.lyricalhost.com/cart.php?a=add&domain=transfer
- Enter your domain name and the authorisation code, then complete your order
- This will charge you the equivalent of one year's renewal of the domain, as we have to renew the domain during transfer. Don't worry - you will just get one extra year on top of the expiry date, you won't lose any time you already have left on the domain.
- Allow the domain transfer to complete - This can take between 5-7 working days, make sure to regularly monitor your emails as any information or update regarding the transfer will be sent to the administrative contact email address.
If you are transferring a .uk domain
- Log in to your GoDaddy account
- Select “Manage” next to the domain you wish to transfer to Lyrical Host
- Select “Manage Domain" at the right hand side of the screen
- Scroll down to “Transfer” and select “Transfer to Another Registrar” (Make sure you turn off domain lock before you select this!)
- Select “Continue with Transfer”
- When prompted for the IPS Tag, enter STACK
- Visit https://hub.lyricalhost.com/cart.php?a=add&domain=transfer
- Enter your domain name (you don’t need an authorisation code for a .uk domain)
- Your domain transfer will occur in the next 24 hours - You’ll be charged the equivalent of one year’s renewal of the domain as we’ll need to do so during transfer, but don’t worry! You’ll get the extra year on top of the expiry date, and you won’t lose any time left on the domain.
