I’ve just registered a domain and now I’m getting spam emails and calls, what happened?

When you buy a domain, regardless of where you buy it, your contact details are published publicly on the web in the WHOIS database. If your domain name grabs the attention of spammers, this means you’ll get a ton of junk email, calls, and mail, if you haven't hidden your details.

We include domain privacy for free with any eligible domain name you buy from us. This includes .com, .net, .org, .co.uk, .uk and a bunch of other domains.

If you're buying a .uk domain, check the "WHOIS Opt-Out" box during checkout to confirm you're an individual not a business, and your details will be hidden from public view.

If you're buying another domain extension once you've registered your domain name with us, you'll get an email from our domain partners, Stack, asking you to complete a short form to verify your domain. As part of this process you can opt to hide your details from public view.
