So you have a great idea for a domain name and it's taken. Don't worry, you have choices.
1. Look for alternative domain extensions. If “yourperfectdomain.com” is already registered, you could always just register the same domain name with a different extension, e.g. “yourperfectdomain.net". Click here to search for your perfect domain and we'll tell you what's available. People are embracing top-level domains (TLDs) other than .COM (In case you’re wondering, the TLD is the part of the domain after the dot, e.g. the “COM” in yourperfectdomain.com). With lots of new generic top-level domains (gTLDs) hitting the market, ranging from locations like .uk and .us, to professions like .blog and .design, they're becoming more popular by the day.
2. You can change the name slightly. If you are not wed to the exact form of your first proposed domain name, you can experiment with minor variations until you find an acceptable name that is available (e.g. your-perfect-domain.com or theperfectdomain.com).
3. See if the name is being sold online, you can check out sites like Sedo.com to see if it's up for sale.
If you own the trademark, you can have a look at this UDRP guide from ICANN which will help you https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/help/dndr/udrp-en.
