If you use an external provider for mail or an email Newsletter and require assistance adding the DKIM for the external provider, please raise a ticket.
A DKIM record is an email authentication technique that allows the recipient's email provider to verify that the email was authorised and sent by the owner of the domain, and also that the email wasn't modified on the way.
This is done by including an encrypted digital signature in the header of an email, which is then checked against the DKIM record set up in the domain's DNS records.
If the DKIM signature on an email is valid then it will be much less likely that the email will be marked as spam by the recipient's email provider.
If you use Lyrical Host as your email provider and would like to add a DKIM record for your domain then you can do so by following these steps:
- Log into cp.lyricalhost.com using your normal details. If you have not logged into LyricalCP before then you can find the instructions for logging in for the first time here.
- Next to the domain name you want to set the DKIM record for, click 'Manage'.
- Scroll down to the 'Email' section and click the Domainkeys (DKIM) icon.
- Enter a Selector into the Selector field (this can be something as simple as s1) and then click Add Signature.
As this creates a DNS record, it can take up to 24 hours for the DKIM record to start functioning for your domain.
If you use a third-party email provider then please raise a support ticket and our team will be able to help you add in a DKIM record given to you by your email provider.
